This was kind of a last-minute decision to buy these & glad we did! Our son proposed to his girlfriend & it was fun to shower them with confetti! We originally planned on the confetti being outside, but got so caught up in the moment, we forgot! So, we confettied them inside when they came into the house! We are very happy we did this inside vs outside. The confetti is NOT paper, but a mylar-type material, so it would have been a horrible mess to clean up from the grass! It swept up easily inside! (although I'm sure we will be finding little bits & pieces here & there for a while! LOL). That being said, the mylar material was sparkly and fun! We did remove the paper from the bottom beforehand, as some suggested - it was easy to use!
